'Sketch & Draw' Weekly Art Workshops with Shaun Woodward
Come and join us! 10.30am to 1.00pm every Thursday
We currently meet for a sociable workshop in the beautiful historic Chapel Hall in Barnwell, where I set (mostly) drawing based projects. We explore a range of techniques using a wide range of media. All tuition, materials, and refreshments are included. £20 per person. No experience required.
Periodically, I also offer one-off full day starter courses for absolute novices who wish to understand the sketching basics. Please contact me if you’re interested in attending one.
Over time, alongside my 40 year career as a product designer, I periodically tutor most age groups and abilities ; from University to Nursery school, GCSE and 'A' level to retirees. I have tutored a mental health charity group, and I can also offer meaningful ‘staff development’ workshops for any type of business using 'sketching' as the vehicle. I am currently a Visiting Lecturer at Chester University.
Like all proficient designers I sketch not only to visualise and develop ideas, but also to communicate creative thoughts to others. I regard drawing as a 'second language', a life skill to be utilised and enjoyed by everyone. I began weekly classes to teach the basics of 'creative' and 'observational' drawing to absolute novices. Although originally aimed at 'beginners' and 'improvers' we are now in our fifth year, with over 500 sessions undertaken to date.
I welcome all enquiries, from individual tuition to bespoke workshops (for a minimum of 6 people). School groups, clubs, business staff development, friendship or family groups are all welcome.
Should this appeal, please call for an informal chat.
Drawing is not a god given gift... I can teach you to a good level!
